Founder + Principal

Before founding Formed Architecture, Robert Tranter spent over 15 years working with award-winning architecture firms in San Francisco on projects ranging from residential work to complex public and large-scale developments. His experience includes the Chengdu Museum Pavilion, 1455 Owens, Aquarium of the Pacific, Presidio Tunnel Tops, Mark Day School, and the Golden Gate Tennis Center.

Formed Architecture builds on that experience through a deliberately personal, hands-on practice. Robert remains directly involved in every project, from early design through construction, bringing continuity, rigor, and attention to detail throughout the process. This direct involvement is central to the studio, pairing deep experience and design expertise with a highly personal and collaborative approach.
