Formed Architecture is a San Francisco architecture studio founded by Robert Tranter, creating thoughtful residential and commercial projects shaped by place, material, and the people who inhabit them.

Before founding Formed Architecture, Robert spent more than a decade practicing architecture in San Francisco with award-winning firms. His experience ranges from intimate residential work to complex mixed-use, high-rise, and large-scale public projects—bringing the rigor of that experience to a more personal and hands-on way of practicing architecture.

Every Formed project is developed through extensive digital modeling and visualization, using technology as an integral part of the design process rather than simply a presentation tool. Ideas are modeled, rendered, tested, and refined to explore light, material, proportion, and experience before they are built. Robert remains personally involved from the first conversation through construction, bringing continuity, curiosity, and attention to every project.
